Leading international testing organisation Exova Warringtonfire, together with Exova BM TRADA, will be providing expert guidance and a series of live demonstrations at FIREX International 2018 in London, 19-21 June.
Each day, Exova will demonstrate best practice passive fire protection product installation on Exova’s stand at A150. This will include a ‘full-scale’ simulated, cross-corridor set-up at the 72sqm stand.
The first one-hour session, which commences at 12:00 p.m., will involve the live installation of a double fire doorset, including the frame, architraves, ironmongery and all of the associated fire-stopping materials, into a full-scale mock-up of a typical corridor.
The second session will begin at 2:00 p.m. when Exova will complete the installation of the remaining passive fire protection measures, including service pipes and protective collars alongside cables, cable trays and a fire batt.
Both sessions will include full commentary by Exova’s Technical Director Jon Osborn and will be followed by a period of questions and answers, which will also give the audience an opportunity to examine the installation work close-up.
In addition to the full-scale set-up for demonstrations, the stand will feature a number of displays including a burnt fire door, three types of burnt fire resistant glazing, burnt structural steel and a burnt service pipe and collar.
Visitors to the stand will also be able to test their knowledge of fire doors by examining two seemingly identical specimens to determine which has been installed correctly and which has not.
