Hainsworth Technology has appointed a former senior fire officer to its Protectives team.
Richard Gorst joins Hainsworth as Sales Director for Protective Fabrics with responsibility for the UK, Scandinavia and Canada.
Richard brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience having completed 25 years in a range of senior roles with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. He was Head of Service Delivery (Cheshire West and Chester) when he left the service in 2014.
The appointment follows a successful 12 months for Hainsworth.
The company cemented its position in the UK fire market after being chosen as a preferred partner for the prestigious Central PPE and Clothing Contract (CPCC) and the Collaborative Procurement Framework.
The Protectives team has also won a number of new contracts in Europe, Australasia and other global markets.
Tom Hainsworth, Managing Director of Hainsworth Technology, said: “Demand for Hainsworth TITAN and ECODRY fabric technologies has never been greater.
“There is a growing acceptance in the UK and elsewhere of the importance of choosing quality products which offer our firefighters the best possible protection as well as greater durability and a longer lifetime for garments.
“The timing of Richard’s appointment could not be better as we look to build on the success of 2017 and extend our reach into the key markets of the UK, Scandinavia and Canada.”
Richard Gorst said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Hainsworth and to be working with the business’s vastly experienced Protectives team. The company has a fantastic reputation not just in the UK but globally and I look forward to taking its industry-leading products into new and existing markets.”
In addition to Tom, Richard will also work closely with Colin Whittaker, Global Sales Manager for Hainsworth Protective Fabrics.
