Impeller is a social enterprise working in close collaboration with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) to combine the knowledge and expertise developed by TWFRS, alongside industry specialists, to deliver services globally.

Fire and Rescue Service training
Impeller provide assessed, accredited and assured training for Fire and Rescue Services, both in the UK and Internationally.
We currently train UK and International Firefighters at the purpose-built training centre in Sunderland. Our partnership with Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service gives access to world-class instructors and facilities, and we have trained 39 separate UK and Ireland Fire and Rescue Services.

Impeller operate a Skills for Justice Accredited Training Centre and are able to offer SFJ accredited courses for FRSs; this drives professional and competency-based training programmes for your firefighters.
Courses include:
Breathing Apparatus Instructor Course
This course is designed to increase the skills, knowledge and methods of instruction of delegates to a level from which they can competently deliver training to other watch members. Both the practical and theoretical aspects of Breathing Apparatus (BA) will be covered.
Heavy Road Traffic Collision Instructor Course
This course is designed to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to deliver Heavy Road Traffic Collision (HRTC) training.
Road Traffic Collision Instructor Course
This course is designed to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to deliver Road Traffic Collision (RTC) training.
Positive Pressure Ventilation Instructor Course
On completion of the training, delegates will have gained the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to teach the practical use of tactical ventilation techniques.
