The high-powered smoke generator retains all the features of Le Maitre’s flagship smoke generator, the NATO-codified G300, whilst simplifying all operational controls and further increasing reliability. With a simple on/off control, smoke-output control, an optional remote control and LED status indicators, the RESCUE 300 is designed to perform in the most demanding of applications. It has a massive continuous smoke output of 51,000m3 per hour.
As with all Le Maitre smoke generators, the RESCUE 300 uses a patented ‘layer block system’ called Genesis. Along with this it has a short heating pipe of just 1m, which allows the smoke generators to be powered by much smaller-wattage heaters than competing models, whilst still giving immense power. In addition, Le Maitre’s heater blocks can be dismantled and serviced or replaced, while competing cast blocks cannot. This further extends the longevity of the machines.

The RESCUE 300 can be used with Le Maitre’s own Industrial Smoke Fluid. This water-based, non-toxic, odourless fluid is perfectly engineered for breathing-apparatus training. A combination of mono/polyglycol, glycerol and de-mineralised water, it produces a dense white smoke with consistent particle size and a lengthy hang time, sustainable even at high temperatures.
Le Maitre Ltd has been manufacturing and supplying smoke generators and fluids to the emergency services for over 25 years. All manufactured in the UK, Le Maitre smoke generators provide a realistic, reduced-visibility environment, producing huge amounts of dense white, non-toxic smoke, making them the ideal choice for use in breathing-apparatus and fire-safety training.
Speaking of the original G300 smoke generator, the Training Officer for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: ‘We are continually reviewing our operational equipment to ensure personnel have the best available. The fact that we have used the Le Maitre smoke generator since its introduction speaks volumes. From single appliance stations to our state-of-the-art training centre it is not only the only smoke machine we use but the only one we need, reliable, adaptable and easy to use.’
All Le Maitre smoke generators are extremely economical. With their powerful continuous output, mechanical fail-safe, compact design and ease of use, they are robust, reliable and essential pieces of training equipment. They are used in training simulations by the emergency services, the military and industry across the country, with many using them on an almost daily basis.
