Linesense will be exhibiting on stand A28:02 at the Skydd 2018¹ exhibition in Stockholm – the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for fire and security – focussing on the company’s range of Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cables which are being employed in numerous and varied fire protection applications worldwide.
Linesense LHD is a sensing cable which provides a digital alarm signal when the pair of twisted steel conductors short together if a pre-determined temperature is reached. The range extends from the H8040N, which is activated at a temperature of 68°C, right through to the H9650, the highest alarm temperature available for LHD at 240°C. This ensures the flexibility to meet the fire safety requirements of many different applications, from cable trays and floating roof tanks to tunnels, conveyors and specialist protection such as engine compartment fires in buses and coaches.
By operating at fixed alarm temperatures, the digital LHD cables are unaffected by changes in ambient temperature and are available in bulk quantities or cut to length to specific requirements, from 100 to 1,000 metres.
The full range of cables is FM approved and, with the use of Intrinsically Safe (IS) barriers, can be applied in hazardous areas. The use of Linesense LHD cables are increasing in such applications, with a recent development being the approval of the DLI-2K Digital location interface and DIM Digital Interface Modules being independently third party assessed and certified as SIL-2 (Safety Integrity Level-2) capable.
Commenting on the decision to exhibit, Ian Jacob, Marketing Manager at Linesense, said – “This is our first time exhibiting at Skydd. We are already selling the cable into projects globally but we see this as an opportunity to particularly raise our profile in Scandinavia.”
