Super Vac’s line-up includes the largest array of PPV fans, ranging from 20cm to 2m blades and now includes Super Vac’s coveted 16- and 18-inch variable-speed battery fans, powered by DeWalt or Milwaukee. Earlier this year, Super Vac introduced its new battery-fan design with the launch of the DeWalt platform. The goal of the design, Super Vac said, was to simplify departments’ battery purchases by eliminating proprietary battery platforms.
Super Vac’s DeWalt battery fan runs off the same batteries as DeWalt’s FLEXVOLT line-up, featuring 180-plus tools, while the Milwaukee platform pairs with a wide array of M18 tools. Departments can also equip the fan with optional 120–240V AC shore power for added flexibility. No matter the pairing, these fans are designed to maximise airflow. Take for instance the V18-BD. Operating on dual 12Ah DeWalt batteries, this 18-inch variable-speed fan delivers an AMCA-certified 18,417cmh output and up to 45 minutes of run time.
But it’s not just the battery platform that makes Super Vac’s newest addition versatile. Super Vac’s new battery fan is one of the smallest and lightest in the industry. The 16-inch fan weighs only 15kg, 6kg lighter than its 18-inch counterpart, and both can be stored on their side in shelf-style compartments. The fan also features a unique design that provides 180-degree tilt for various attacks, allowing the PPV to be directed at attics or manholes or positioned for positive or negative ventilation. Tack on a wide assortment of Super Vac accessories, like a flexible duct, Mountain Mister (for rehab) or high-expansion foam adapter, and this fan truly is a game-changer for departments.
‘We’re proud of this addition. DeWalt, Milwaukee and Super Vac are long-trusted names, and we simply brought them together to deliver the most dependable PPV fans on the market,’ Super Vac President Roger Weinmeister said. ‘This fan rounds out our full line-up of gas-, electric-, battery- and water-powered PPV fans, making it the most robust offering you’ll find.’
In addition to the PPV line-up, Super Vac also manufactures smoke ejectors, available in 12-, 16-, 20- and 24-inch blades. Like the patent-pending battery fan, the Super Vac smoke ejector features a patented design — a four-tip recurved aluminium blade that creates a tight spiral of air to eject smoke and fumes away from the building.
For large-scale ventilation needs, Super Vac offers a 1.25m and 2m fan, perfect for ventilating airports, tunnels, sports complexes, shopping malls or super stores. The SVU 1.25m fan features up to 424,750cmh, while the BFF 2m fan produces 1,250,000cmh. The SVU can be mounted to a custom trailer, skid unit or flatbed trailer, while the BFF, the largest mobile emergency ventilation fan on the market, is mounted to a specially designed trailer.
Super Vac also adds cut-off saws, chain saws, spiral ducts, rehab misters and other necessities to the mix, including the patented Smoke BlockAid. This Super Vac smoke curtain helps control oxygen to the fire and contain smoke to a single room to minimise property damage. Featuring a QuickAction ratchet design, the Smoke BlockAid sets up in seconds and requires no manpower to maintain door control.
A 65-year-old company, Super Vac has long been a trusted name in fire ventilation. Aside from the fan’s power source (engine, motor or battery), every component of Super Vac’s fans are built in-house at its Colorado facility. From the cast aluminium blades poured in the foundry to the formed and welded fan housings assembled on the production line, Super Vac truly is the industry’s source for dependable ventilation products.
